Three Countries, Three companies, Five Locations – One Brand: InterCal
Our Lime Companies under one Roof
As of January 2021, all Lime activities of Wietersdorfer will be combined under the shared umbrella brand – InterCal. Our companies produce at five locations in three countries:
- InterCal Austria GmbH – Peggau
- InterCal Croatia d.o.o. – Sirač and Ličko Lešće
- InterCal Slovenija d.o.o. – Zagorje and Zidani Most (Apnenec d.o.o.)
We produce limestone and quick lime in various grain sizes, hydrated lime, and customer-specific lime mixtures for industrial and agricultural use.
InterCal stands for our international production sites and cooperations and, according to our vision, for great commitment beyond our borders to open up new markets from the Alps to the Black Sea.
InterCal also stands for competence in processing calcium carbonate limestone into end products for industry and commercial users.

Pulp & Paper
The manufacturing process in the paper and cellulose industry is very water-intensive, which is why special emphasis is placed on closed production cycles. Cellulose is the basis for making paper and is obtained from raw wood in a chemical pulping process (generally the kraft pulping or sulphate process).

Stone Aggregates
Stone aggregates are produced by processing the limestone mined from the Čardak quarry which is located approximately 2 km away from the office buildings in Ličko Lešće. Čardak is located in an ecologically intensive and mountainous region in Croatia (near river Gacka and several national parks: Plitvice Lakes, North Velebit, Paklenica), therefore, it is crucial to pay special attention to environmental protection.
